Scientific description/definition

Our brain and sub-conscious mind is wired to absorb information and form reflexes/responses and behavior patterns based on the information it receives and stores. The resulting emotions are a result of feelings generated in specific parts of our brain such as hypothalamus or visual cortex or brain stem or cerebellum. So there is a direct correlation between the audio, visual and sensory input the brain receives and the resulting emotion. Describing how emotion experiences are caused does not substitute for a description of what is felt or what it means. The longer you dwell on an emotion, the more the body responds to the nature of that emotion.





Practice/Technique to adopt the wisdom principle

Observe your emotions arising as a response to thoughts, events, people, environment, senses. Keep a log of emotions as positive or negative.





Experiential understanding

The more you dwell in positive emotion the more positive and happy you become. The more you dwell in negative emotion the more negative and grumpy you become.
